Started in several world and European championships in Cyclocross, lost count on the amount of worldcups I’ve started in cyclocross. Traveled to Portugal to represent the Netherlands at the University World Games as a mountainbiker (did also two mtb Worldcups). Been to the Dirty Reiver in 2019. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALp2Jsjnt5A&t and won the 62mile gravel race at the Chino Grindr (Arizona State championships). And I did some pro road races also, I even made it to the breakaway in a Belgian TV race once… still no clue how I did that but all of a sudden I looked over my shoulder and there was no one behind us anymore and there I found myself in the breakaway with all those worldtour and pro tour riders (I was a conti rider) and that was actually really scary because you look around and literally every rider you see in that breakaway is waaaaaay better then you are. And then there was still around 150km to go, at least my family and friends who watched the race for the tv where proud. I guess I have some race experiences…. Owh ja, and I won three professional cyclocross races so far in my career and no clue how many non-professional races.
Nothing else then a Bombtrack! For the Orbits I will use
the BombtrackHook EXT C frame, with
Hunt Carbon Gravel wheels,
Ritchey WCS bars (Ergomax), race bartape, stem and seatpost and steel bottle cages (easy to tighten (by squeezing them) if you drop your bottle).
KMC Gold chain,
Lezyne MegaXL bikecomputer, brass bell, pump, CO2 cartriges, saddle bag, and multitool,
SelleSMP blaster saddle,
Tires will differ depending on the weather conditions but they will always be from Challenge, I will be using the handmade tubeless tires and the gravelgrinder profile. I mainly use the 36mm skinwall tires or the 42mm and all setup tubeless.
I also carry two latex innertubes from Challenge in case I get a flattire. From Restrap I use the TopTube bag that I can srew in my frame to carry my food on the bike and I will use a camelback to carry my extra drinks. Drivetrain is a bit of a mix:
Sram Force CX 1 shifters derailleur and breaks, Shimano 12-42 XTR cassette and Ultegra crankset with a 46t narrow-wide chainring, I use shimano roadpedals.
